Ben Turns 2!

On July 2, Benjamin turned 2. Jonathan took the day off so that we could celebrate as a family.

We headed to Chick-fil-a for some lunch and the indoor playground. It was crazy busy that day.

After lunch we headed back home to open presents. Ben got a mini-room makeover so that we could squeeze the train table in.

After presents, we loaded up the car and headed to Longwood.

On Saturday, we celebrated with our Central Florida family and friends at my parents house.100_8536We feasted on fried chicken, baked beans, coleslaw, green beans, chips, rolls, cake and homemade strawberry ice cream. Since we ordered the chicken, it was super easy…thank you, Publix.

100_8531I had found these decals the weekend before for $1 at a garage sale. Ben thought they were awesome.

Splash Park Fun

A couple of weeks ago, we met up with one of Rosemary’s best friends from preschool for some splash park fun. It was sweltering and I about ran through the water fully clothed because it was so hot, but the kids had so much fun.

First Date - Toy Story 3

Jonathan took Rosemary on a date on Saturday to see Toy Story 3. Rosemary insisted on wearing her “Jessie pants” (which are now capris) from her Jessie costume from 2 years ago.

They had popcorn and then went to Chick-fil-a at the mall, per Rosemary’s request.

Both said it was a great movie. Rosemary keeps talking about it!

Vacation Bible School

Last week was Vacation Bible School at Rosemary’s preschool.

000_0118 Not singing

000_0119You can barely see the top of Rosemary’s head amidst the sea of children. No worries, she wasn’t singing up there either.

Rosemary’s First Recital

Last night was Rosemary’s first ballet recital. We looked forward to it all week and had 2 rehearsals before the big night so it was a pretty busy week.

100_8484

Rosemary was a Growling Bear.

We couldn’t take pictures during the recital so I took a bunch during the dress rehearsal.

100_8459 100_8460 100_8463 Looking sweet.

100_8464 Her friend, Alison, was a blue bird.

100_8468 Rosemary was very focused on finding her spot.

100_8469 100_8471 100_8472 100_8478-2 100_8479 Still looking for that mark…

The day of the recital

Janice and Richard met at our house and Richard watched Ben during the show. Rosemary wanted a pic with Ben before we left for the church.

Waiting for the recital to begin.

Afterwards, we picked up Rosemary and all gave her flowers. She really did like them, despite how it looks. :-)

100_8487 We managed to snap a quick shot with the grandparents before everyone needed to leave.

100_8488  And Jonathan and I got one too…with our very exhausted little ballerina.

Memorial Day in Melbourne

We spent Memorial Day weekend in Melbourne for a beach weekend and to visit with Zach. Rosemary and Ben were very excited to see their uncle.

We stayed over at the beach and met up with Zach throughout the weekend. He was a great host and took us to some great local places to eat. When we first got there, we hit Five Guys (not local, but so good) for some burgers then headed to the beach for a bit. That night for dinner we went to a little hole in the wall place that served Hawaiian burritos. Sounds strange but they were so good.

100_8421

Rosemary really enjoyed the fun bottled sodas.

100_8422 We all got a different flavor.

100_8423 Ben waiting for his food…I think he was hungry.

100_8426 Rosemary wanted to try everyone’s soda.

100_8427Jonathan and his ‘Insane Burrito’ that came complete with instructions on how to eat it properly.

100_8428 Brothers.

The next morning we got up, had breakfast at the hotel then headed down to the beach for a long beach day.

100_8431 Ben enjoyed the tent.

100_8433 Jonathan and Rosemary got to work digging holes and building sand castles.

100_8438I bought Rosemary a kite at the dollar store and was shocked when Rosemary got it to fly on her first try. It was amazing.

100_8439 Ben enjoyed wandering around our little camp.

100_8441 Rosemary again wanted to fly her kite, this time from inside the tent.

100_8447 Uncle Zach helped dig a hold that Ben loved to climb in.

100_8449 100_8453 Rosemary danced a bit for us.

100_8455

The family…all sandy but having lots of fun.

That night we went to Bizzarro’s for pizza then the kids and I headed back the hotel while Jonathan and Zach saw a movie.

The next morning we spent a little more time on the beach then got packed up and ready to go. We met Zach at Mustard’s Last Stand, a hotdog restaurant that served all kinds of hotdogs. I was pretty boring and just got melted cheese, but Jonathan got one with jalapenos and Zach had one that was wrapped in bacon and a tortilla then deep fried and topped with chili and cheese. After that Zach took us to Cold Fusion for ice cream where we picked out our flavors and they made the ice cream right in front of us with liquid nitrogen. The kids loved it.

On our way home, we stopped in Groveland to visit a bit with Elizabeth, Ezekiel, and Ian. After dinner, we loaded up and headed home after a great weekend with family.

End of the Year Picnic

We celebrated Rosemary’s last week of school at a picnic.

100_8418 Rosemary and one of her best buddies, Alison

100_8419 Another one of her good friends, Hunter

100_8420 Silly faces!

She was so blessed to have such a great group of friends this year. We’ve already made plans to meet up with some of her friends throughout the summer.
