The Last Soccer Game

Soccer season wrapped up at the end of October. My parents were able to come for the last game.

Jonathan had a pizza party for his team after the last game.

These kids chowed down!

Jonathan had a really sweet group of 5 year olds to coach. I think they had a fun season.

Rosemary’s team ended up being undefeated and she was very excited about that.

The next week, Upward hosted an awards night and the kids each got a trophy. They have them proudly displayed in their room.

Both Rosemary and Ben are looking forward to playing soccer again next year.

Fall Break

We took a break from school and Jonathan took a week off in October. We didn’t have any big plans, but we still managed to have a lot of fun. We spent the first weekend in Eustis and Jonathan framed out a mirror for my parents while my mom and I did some shopping.

The kids took part in all of their regularly scheduled activities. One day was completely open and we had a groupon for the Santa Fe zoo that was expiring soon so we visited there, but we didn’t tell the kids where we were going, they had to guess. As we turned to go to Santa Fe, Rosemary finally figured it out. It was relatively empty and the kids enjoyed seeing the animals and playing on the playground.

The poor peacocks and peahens. Charlotte chased them all over and at one point actually caught one of them by the feathers. Poor bird.

After the zoo, we took Charlotte home for a nap and Jonathan took Ben and Rosemary out canoeing at Lake Wauberg.

I asked Ben what he did while they were canoeing. He told me he relaxed.

We surprised the kids again that night with a trip to Sweet Dreams for dessert. We’d accumulated about 4 or so penny single scoops so we went and redeemed those.

I think Ben may have enjoyed his ice cream.

We enjoyed ours too!

Also during the week, Jonathan took Rosemary rock climbing at Sun Country. She loved it. And I took Ben and Charlotte to Stay and Play on Friday at Sun Country. I don’t think Charlotte ever really had a chance to go before and Ben hadn’t gone since he was about Charlotte’s age. They both had a blast.

School Outside

In early October we started having some gorgeous weather. The kids and I would kick our days off with a walk around the block before diving into schoolwork. One day it was so nice we decided we’d just do school outside.

Charlotte passed the time with some t-ball.

Ben was ready for his Saxon 1 lesson.

Working away, writing his date on his meeting strip. I don’t remember why he still had his bike helmet on.

It was a great way to do school. So refreshing and a good change of pace for us.

Later that day while the girls and I were waiting for Ben while he was in his speech class, we took a few silly photos.

These two are great buddies.

We were learning portraits and some techniques to prep for an art lesson I was going to be teaching. I think she did a great job putting the techniques into practice! Too bad it was on a dry-erase board. Had to snap a photo so we would have record of her beautiful artwork.

Charlotte at 2 and a half. So stinkin’ sweet…and so blonde!

Camille visit

Janey and Dwayne came to Gainesville to visit and to go to a Gator game and we had the pleasure of watching Camille so they could go. Our kids were beyond excited to have a ‘baby’ (she’s over a year old) in the house.

DSC08007

It was Charlotte’s week to do the silverware. She’s an amazing little picker-upper of a two-year-old.

DSC08008

Hi, Camille!

DSC08009

Rosemary wanted a pic with her.

DSC08011

And so did Charlotte!

DSC08012

I’m pretty sure Charlotte gave Camille her pacifier just for the picture, because in her mind, ‘babies’ are supposed to have their pacifiers at all times!! :-)

Camille was so sweet and just a happy little girl. Thanks for letting us watch her.

Kika Silva Pla Planetarium Visit

Our co-op took its first field trip to the Santa Fe Planetarium in September. We snapped this shot after several family had already left, but it was still a good sized group. And it was a fun field trip.

More Soccer

Soccer seemed to consume our September and October. While practices and games were just two nights a week, they seemed to throw a lot of things off, just because of the time. We managed though and really had a great time. By the end of the season, things were cooling off and it was just wonderful to be outside and visit with friends.

DSC07945

Charlotte did a great job for the most part just hanging out and watching her brother and sister play. Some game days were tougher than others since we had such busy Thursdays. If she didn’t nap, it made for an interesting game!
