Agency D3: Westside VBS 2014

Towards the end of June, we had VBS at our church. Everyone was SO excited. We had to get up earlier that week than we got up all year! But it was a fun, exhausting, meaningful week as we learned about who Jesus is.

Ready for our first day! Crazy sock day, in case you couldn’t tell.

The second day was crazy hair day. I even sprayed mine. I had a meeting that night and the purple was still there.

On Friday night we headed back for the wrap up for the week.

Rosemary is up there on the right…hard to see her, since she’s a spy…but she’s there.

And there’s Charlotte. I didn’t realize she’d go up, but she did.

And Chris and Pastor John both got slimed.

The kids enjoyed Chick-fil-a sandwiches and meeting the cow.

Then we went out to the bounce houses. Charlotte loves her friend, Erica.

VBS at Trinity

The kids were so excited to embark on this year’s VBS adventure. Rosemary and Ben were going to be participating the whole week and Charlotte would get to stay for the days that I volunteered.

The first day they donned their lime green shirts and were ready to start the day.

I helped out with preschool crafts so I saw Ben each time I volunteered. I caught a peek of Rosemary my second day on her way to an activity.

Charlotte loved dancing to the songs while we waited for Rosemary to wrap up with her group.

On the last day the kids sang some songs then we stayed for a picnic lunch.

The kids earned bracelets for saying their memory verses.

Rosemary loved singing Njalo. She taught herself all of the words (I think that they are in Zulu?) just by listening to the song over and over.

Vacation Bible School @ Trinity

Last week, Rosemary and Ben attended VBS at Trinity. They both had a blast. This was a big step forward for Rosemary. She attended two years ago and hated it…wouldn’t even go last year. This year, she was a completely different child. She has grown so much in that time. And I am so thankful for God’s answer to prayer! New and different situations are not as overwhelming this year. And Ben was great! Drop off a couple of days was tough, but he was doing that for preschool even at the end of the year. Once he got into the groove of things though, he had a great time too.

The last day the kids sang in the worship center. I was so proud of Rosemary and so touched by the kids singing praises. I just sat there (in the front row at Ben’s request) with tears in my eyes. I wish that I had brought the video camera. It was wonderful.
