We went to the Butterfly Rainforest one last time before our passes expired and brought the camera to get some pictures. I had forgotten to put the memory card back in the camera so we only had room for about 7 pictures on the internal memory. We didn't capture the exact moment of the first steps...but we captured the moments around them!
Rosemary is old enough now to be fascinated by the butterflies. She looks like she's about to pounce! It was a wonderful day to visit. The butterflies were very active. We've found that if it's too cold, while it is still nice to go, the butterflies don't fly around as much. This day they did!
This was the moment before her very first steps. I wanted Jonathan to get a picture of her standing, which he did, and then she proceded to walk to the side of the bridge...all by herself!
It was so nice that we both got to see it rather than hearing about it when we picked her up from daycare. We even drew a crowd because we were so excited.
This is side of the bridge that she walked to. Once there, she stuck her foot through the railing and dropped her shoe in the water. You can see the shoe in this picture, even though Jonathan didn't mean to take the picture of the shoe in the water...it's the bright white spot just to the left of Rosemary.
Jonathan fished out the shoe as it traveled "downstream" to where he could reach. Unfortunately, Rosemary wasn't able to walk anymore at the rainforest because she had one soggy shoe. :-)
