I don’t have any photos from the day, but on New Year’s Eve we packed up and met Jonathan’s parents on our way back home for a hike at Silver Springs. Our short hike ended up being much longer than expected. We ended the time together with Mexican food before driving back home.
We got Ben and Charlotte to bed, then spent the evening playing Monopoly with Rosemary while we waited for the ball to drop. Midnight came before the end of the game.
We headed down to spend a few nights in Eustis to celebrate Christmas and New Year’s Eve with my parents. As soon as we arrived, we exchanged gifts.
Later that day, while Charlotte and Ben slept and while my dad and Jonathan put together my parent’s new grill, Rosemary, Mom, and I went to Mt. Dora. We shopped a bit then stopped in for tea.

For New Year’s Eve, Mom and Dad put together another delicious smorgasbord for us to graze on throughout the night. Dad and I had spent the morning hanging a new chandelier in one of the bedrooms.

Charlotte ate dinner with us, but she soon headed to bed. The rest of us watched Enchanted and played some Bananagrams. Ben and Rosemary were doing their best to stay up until midnight.

Ben made it until about 11:10pm. I tried to wake him up at 11:50, but he was totally out. I picked him up and moved him to my lap and he just would not wake up.
The rest of us counted down and toasted at midnight.
The next day, Ben attempted to eat a HUGE sandwich.
I can’t remember how much he ate, but I don’t think it was all of it. But goodness, does this boy love his fruits and vegetables.

We wrapped up the holiday season and 2011 by celebrating New Year’s Eve at my parents’ home with them and my brother and his family.
We exchanged gifts. We switched to family gifts with my side of the family too. Much simpler!
My mom got Cate (she’s 2) Sandra Boynton’s Belly Button book. It’s a fun one.
Rosemary opened up our gift…Just Dance Kids. We love it!

For Jonathan, it isn’t New Year’s Eve without fire.
The kids brought down Just Dance 2 so we played some of that as well as Just Dance Kids while we waited for midnight.
We told Rosemary she could stay up as late as she wanted…she made it until midnight!
