At the end of August, we packed up the van with our camping gear, some food, and our luggage and headed up north for a family vacation. Originally, we had planned only to go camping in the Smokies the weekend after Labor Day, but schedules worked out so that we could also go up to spend a few days with Jason in Virginia before heading to Tennessee. So early on Sunday morning, we set out on our trip.
We stocked up on audiobooks before leaving. On the way up we listened to Treasure Island and George Washington, Spymaster.
Excited to already be in Georgia.
Made it to South Carolina.
Even got to North Carolina pretty quickly!
By the time we made it to the Virginia Welcome Center, we didn’t take pictures. We were ready to keep going. :-)
We made it to Jason’s after 8pm. We stopped to dinner a couple hours south of him, but hit rain on the way in, right in the middle of the exciting DC traffic. We were happy to be off the road and dry.
